 Ok so today I decided to write about my OTP. If you’ve been following me for some time you know I don’t usually write, but I was inspired today, so I decided to give it a try

 Just to begin I want to explain a few things. Johnlock was my first OTP, I sailed this ship even when I didn’t know what shipping was. 

 It was only after watching the series (to be known that what I’m pointing here is just related to the series, because the characters in the books are completely different) and turning even more obsessed with it, that I decided to write a few things (massive text) about it. Thru this, I hope, I can point some of the characteristics in John and Sherlock’s relationship that makes me love it so much.

 The fact that John and Sherlock love each other is clear for me, and it’s even clearer why. 

 John was an injured soldier, sent back to his country, living a meaningless life. Sherlock Holmes gave a meaning to his life, how he made everything so bright and new, so exiting. He gave him everything he needed. Sherlock, who is a lonely, brilliant, unusual being, found in John all the love he needed from someone, all the caring. Because Sherlock was never properly loved, in my opinion, you can see by his damaged relationship with Mycroft. They complete each other, each of them possess the exact characteristics that the other lack. For me, when in love, people don’t want to found in the other the same something that they already have in themselves, they need something they lack. And they have this, Sherlock was everything John wasn’t and John was everything Sherlock wasn’t. Together, they are a perfect mechanism.  

 I have no doubts that if it wasn’t for John, Sherlock would have end up like Sergeant Donovan predicted, he’d become a Moriarty, cold, evil, maniac, obsessive, bored, because he was losing his humanity. That was what John brought to him, charity, love, caring, devotion, a best friend. And that was what he needed. And he realizes that, he knows it, and he loves John so much for that, he knows John changed, most certainly, saved his life. This is, I think, the most remarkable thing about their relationship. You see, Sherlock is thankful to John because John loves him, and care about him, and would make anything to help him. You can see the look in Sherlock’s eyes every time he act like an idiot to John and John still stay by his side, the feeling. 

 And of course John knows all this, he knows Sherlock needs him, and he is much pleased to help, because Sherlock Holmes gave him his life back.

 Now if you are an Irene/Sherlock shipper you should stop right here. Oh well…

 I see people making such a big deal of Irene and Sherlock, but I can’t even compare it with Johnlock. Irene’s love was real? Maybe, but if it was, it was a selfish love, she never really cared about Sherlock like John did. She played with his feelings, and that for me, its not love. Also Holmes didn’t love Irene. No, for me he didn’t. The only thing he felt for her was admiration, because she was something he couldn’t understand, something like him. But that’s only my opinion.

 Another thing that might come useful to prove my point are John’s girlfriends. Well John is after all, a man. Yes I believe is gay, but in a ultra-skeptical way, he is a man, and men likes women. He had an enough number of girlfriends, but he was never able to keep one. Why? Because they were not Sherlock Holmes. John didn’t love those girlfriends as half as he loved Holmes, and they all knew it, Jeanett precisely said in A Scandal in Belgravia: ”You know my friends are so wrong about you. You’re a great boyfriend (…) and Sherlock Holmes is a very lucky man (…) don’t make me compete with Sherlock Holmes” and that’s it, they can’t compete with him, John would never make half of what he does for Sherlock for some girlfriend, he wouldn’t  love them as much as he loves him, its impossible.

 Ok, so this might seem a bit silly, but look, almost everybody suggested that John and Sherlock were a couple. Well that can’t just happen because they are flat mates, no, they see, they noticed how they look at each other, how completed they were together, when they talk, you can notice. 

 John Watson is the only one, the only one that Sherlock trusts completely, he has no doubt of his loyalty. John, his John, the man who saved his life, even not knowing him completely, could never betrayal him. And John trusts Sherlock even more then he trust himself. He trusted him since the beginning, since he they faced their first case together, working as a team, he knew that that man was a man that could never disappoint him, he was his best friend. And we know that John would die for Sherlock, and Sherlock died for John. 

 Now you may choose to see it as a very strong friendship, but I don’t, I think that there are certain things about it that can’t be restricted to a friendship. That’s why Johnlock is my OTP. But again, that is just my opinion, I just felt the need to express it.
